Hi Sara, how was your summer and what have you been up to training wise?
It’s been really good and I have been able to focus a lot on my training.
The physical training during the summer has progressed and the results of the latest tests look very good.
I look forward to start this season soon and I have already been skiing a lot.
In August/September we went to Argentina for one of our skiing camps where I practiced both Slalom and Giant Slalom but also some Super-G runs.
The Super-G was mostly for fun but also to improve my Giant Slalom.
How do you find motivation for a new season?
There is so much I need to work on and want to improve in my skiing.
This season it’s the Winter Olympics, in Milan Cortina, What is your plan for the season?
My plan is always to do my best in every race for overall World Cup, but this season is special since I also want to defend my title in the Winter Olympics.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
I am inspired by so many people, in different areas!
In skiing in particular, my coach Walter is probably the one who inspires me the most. His way of talking, showing and instilling hope that I can handle new movements is very inspiring.
The Swiss men’s team with Odermatt at the forefront has inspired my view of skiing a lot in recent years. Mikaela Shiffrin’s slalom skiing is always beautiful to watch.
My service man Reini helps me with the discipline to find focus again and to always want to give one percent more.
I am inspired by my mother in regards to fighting spirit, because she goes through tough things but never complains and instead only focuses on what she can do!
