Season Sum up – 23/24

Publicerad:

What was the best thing during this season?

Hard to point out one special thing, so I will say the whole season.

What were your goals for this season?

I’ve had some technical goals that I have been working on and improved. For example to enter a turn earlier and put an earlier pressure on the outer ski.

I had a new instructor this season, Walter and we have created a great professional relationship. He cares about me both as a person and as a skier which is important. He has a great technical knowledge.

Overall I’ve had a high minimum level and I have had many good first runs in my races. One of the highlights this season is of course the victory in Jasna. The slope was flat, hard and icy and the course was round and I made two nice runs. It was a long season and during the week In Åre there was a lot of media focus that made me exhausted. It was also the end of the season when I am extra tired.

What do you look forward to in the coming season?

To keep develop my technical skills att take the steps that I constantly train to develop.

Season summery from the Swedish Ski Team :

The 2023-2024 season has been filled with success and adversity for Ski Team Sweden Alpine, not least when a series of speed and technique competitions had to be canceled due to challenging weather conditions. Sara Hector and Kristoffer Jakobsen end the season with their best results ever in their careers and the men’s team in Team Svenska Spel ranks better in the European Cup slalom than in a decade. Anna Swenn Larsson started the season with back problems but turned around and took the second victory of her career in Soldeu and a fine third place in Flachau.

– Sara took a new record in total points over the season, over 900 points, which is well above the Olympic season and that says something. Winning and getting a first podium in slalom, finishing top six in slalom and taking third place in the giant slalom cup is really a top achievement. For Anna, it started with difficulties but we turned it around, which was fantastic, and it has been a great experience for her and us to take to the future, says Manuel Gamper, head coach of the women’s team.
