After a great weekend in Åre on home soil with a podium in giant slalom we got a few words with Sara.
Congratulations to a 2nd place and a great weekend Sara! How can you describe the last few days?
I am very happy with the giant slalom race. The first run I set all the edges perfectly and I had a good flow in big parts of the run! In the second run I started very aggressive. I wanted a lot and skied a little too straight already from the second gate. I had to struggle with some bad timing until I almost fell on an inner ski. I lost all momentum there and it was reflected on the time. The snow in the lower part of the hill had become a little soft and I had trouble getting my skis to go in a nice way there, but held the run together decently. I am very happy that I managed to take second place!
And on Sunday in the slalom? How was that?
In the slalom race, the energy wasn’t quite as high and I had to fight to get it going! I did my best and even though it didn’t result in an advanced placement, I’m not disappointed because that particular day I didn’t have more in me!
I am so happy for the awesome support I have around me!
What’s next now?
Now I’m looking forward to recharge and just do my best in Saalbach!
Good luck in Saalbach Sara!
